Faith is… Action!

James 2:14 & 18 (GNT) “My friends, what good is it for one of you to say that you have faith if your actions do not prove it? Can that faith save you? …My answer is, “Show me how anyone can have faith without actions. I will show you my faith by my actions.”

The third thing faith teaches us is, Faith, Is About Who And Not About What. Our faith is in a Person (Jesus) and not in a process. 2 Tim.1:12 “…I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.” (emphasis added).

I know whom I have believed. Faith is believing something is yours because you believe someone is gracious. Even though you have not yet seen it in the physical but you have received it in your spirit and you are walking in it.

Why? It is because you believe the One you put your faith in is gracious. God says, ‘I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. Femi (put your name there), I have chosen to have mercy on you and I will have mercy on you’. I am able to personalize God’s Word because I believe that Someone is gracious. I know I have it, I know it is mine because I believe He is gracious. I know whom I have believed. Faith is in whom not what, it is in a person, not a process, it is in our God not an event.

The fourth thing faith teaches us is, Faith, Is A Certainty That Leads To Action. Knowing that you know, that you know, that you know. The knowing that goes beyond intellect and reasoning. How do you know you are saved? I do not know but I know. (song) ‘Yes I, yes I, yes I know He lives. I’ve got a witness in my heart that He lives. Standing on the right side, looking up above and I can tell that I know that He lives’. How do you know Jesus is alive? Yes I, yes I, yes I know He lives… It is a knowing that transcends the understanding.

Faith is what takes you out of the boat and puts you on the water. Faith is what tears the roof open and lets down your friend to Jesus. Faith is going to pull people from their houses and bringing them to our places of worship, into fellowship with Jesus. Faith is what fills a vessel with water and trusts that Jesus will convert it to wine. What you do tells us where your faith lies. Our faith is known and shown by the things we do. You cannot claim to believe God and do contrary things, things that have nothing to do with believing God. Faith is the fire that drives our obedience and sacrifice. Faith, the evidence of the things not seen, in a God that calls the things that be not as though they were. Faith makes all the difference.

Prayer: Father, I declare that my faith in Whom I have believed will lead me to act because I have believed, in Jesus Name. Amen!
