Be Guided

Proverbs 12:26 “The righteous should choose his friends carefully…” (NKJV).

The Word of God puts the burden of choosing the right friends on you. You have to choose your friends carefully. Yesterday, we learnt about the five kinds of people that we should not have as close friends. First, avoid having Lazy People as close friends. Read the rest of this entry

Version 2.0.

Isaiah 26:19 “But those who die in the Lord will live; their bodies will rise again! Those who sleep in the earth will rise up and sing for joy! For your life-giving light will fall like dew on your people in the place of the dead!”

The second radical thought about your body that you need to embrace for you to see metamorphosis in your physical body is, God Expects You To Manage Your Body. God expects me to manage my body. 1 Corinthians 6:12 “…I will not be mastered by anything.” (NIV). Do not let anything dominate your life. Read the rest of this entry

Slow Down

Galatians 6:9 “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

When should I move slowly? When I Do Not Have All The Facts and When I Am Hurt, Angry, or Depressed (H.A.D.). The third time I should move slowly is When I Am Making A Major Decision. Proverbs 21:29Wicked people bluff their way (through life), Read the rest of this entry

The Rhythm

James 1:19 “…Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” (NIV, emphasis added).

We have learnt when we should move fast. The other side of rhythm is when do I move slowly? When do I pause, and not take immediate action? Proverbs 14:29It’s smart to be patient…” (CEV). So, when should I be patient? When should I ponder before I move? Read the rest of this entry

Calm Down!

Ephesians 4:26 “And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry.”

Yesterday, we looked at the first of three things that are crucial in taking bold steps in life which is, Do Not Confuse Outrage With Courage. Most times we think we are being courageous when we are just acting out of rage not realizing that we are actually doing ourselves a disservice. Read the rest of this entry

Knowing

John 3:26 “So John’s disciples came to him and said, “Rabbi, the man you met on the other side of the Jordan River, the one you identified as the Messiah, is also baptizing people. And everybody is going to him instead of coming to us.” (emphasis added).

In today’s scripture reference, John the Baptist’s disciples were practically blaming Him for identifying Jesus as the Messiah because now Jesus is also baptizing people, and everybody is going to Him instead of coming to John and his disciples. Read the rest of this entry

In His Name, I

Ps. 30:4 (NKJV) “Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.”

If someone knows your qualifications [you have BSE, MSE, Ph.D., PhD+, PhD++], does it mean the person knows you? He or she may know what you are capable of – faster than Usain Bolt, stronger than Hulk, can defeat Mohammed Ali. Those are just your attributes but that is not your person. Watch Out!

Acts 5:3&5 “Then Peter said, ‘Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.’ As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died. Everyone who heard about it was terrified.”

In our day, social media will literally explode with this sort of news. Imagine the headline: Pastor snuffs out member’s life for incomplete giving! Or this; Sow correct seed or fall down and die! Bad press! Peter was not in an easy place and I do not envy Peter at all. Read the rest of this entry

Master’s Piece

Matt.5:22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell” [with emphasis].

Every time Jesus says, “You have heard that but I say this”, He is about to take you deeper in God. Jesus is saying to you and I, “murder” is a spectrum Read the rest of this entry

FYI?
